Residents of Kodiebe in the Greater Accra region have benefited from a free health screening organized by life support Africa, an NGO dedicated to providing free health care to the poor and deprived communities. The gesture was not only to improve the immediate health of beneficiaries but also laid a foundation for long term health benefits in the community. The only hospital in the town is operated by the Roman Catholic Church, and residents who cannot afford the hospital charges have to travel to do what to assess health care.

The development queen mother of the area, Madam Vida Gedjah, who is also a health practitioner, joined other members of the team who are also medical experts from Ghana and the UK to conduct free comprehensive medical consultations to beneficiaries. Beneficiaries were screened for breast cancer, malaria, typhoid, hypertension and diabetes.
The team also provided vital checks and distributed free medications for various ailments. All lab tests were done for free and the beneficiaries received education on healthy lifestyle choices. The health care they've got here is private and you have to pay and unfortunately most of them don't have the means to do it.
Divisional Chief of Kodiebe Nene Padi Wayo lauded life support Africa for the initiative. We are requesting the government to put an effort of bringing a very large hospital, which will serve the whole citizens and then it's going to serve Ghana.
The aged and children in the community received some gifts from the team in the spirit of Christmas. The screening aligns with the core values of life support Africa, which seeks to provide compassionate health care services and promote the well-being of residents within the community.
